The Government have instituted a State Level Award since the year 2018, to recognize and encourage the abilities of a girl child, first of its kind in the country, to be given to a girl child, below 18 years of age, on the National Girl Child day, 24th January, every year. The award consists of a cash prize of Rs.1.00 lakh as cheque along with an Appreciation Certificate.
The Government have also instituted awards to three best districts in recognition of their remarkable service in improving Child Sex Ratio which includes gold, silver and bronze medals and certificates. The award is being given on Tamil Nadu State Girl Child Protection day, 24th February, every year.
